I made the above video about my last week where I flew up north to tick off one of my bucket list items (snorkel the great barrier reef).

The two things I value pretty much over all else are EXPERIENCE and CONTRIBUTION.

Experience, as in doing as many things with this short time you have as you can, and contribution, as in creating a legacy or body of work that leaves the world a little bit better off than when you found it.

The only thing holding you back from getting out there really is fear.

Fear to get out there and start experimenting, failing, testing, winning and experiencing all the highs and lows that go with it.

It’s pretty scary. But what other option is there? Being boring?

I want to share with you a story from my past week when I was on that boat doing my snorkel tour.

This is a story I sent to my daily email people so if you’re not on it and want to hear from me during the week go here.

Daily Email Story:

You know that old saying…

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

Got a BIG realtime lesson in this today.

Listen up!

Alright so several hours ago I checked off one of the things on my list of ultimate rad things to do: snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.

Yes. It was the shizzle. Everything I wanted it to be and more.

ANYWAY LESSON TIME:

There was a guy from Euro somewhere who, at the edge of the boat – FREAKED OUT and clinged for his life at the edge. Not daring to venture  out and see all the amazing fish, coral and other world.

I feel like a really bad person for this but at first  I thought: “What the hell are you doing you scared little girl – get the f**k out in the water!”

But instead I just dived in and decided to worry about  myself – the guides were giving him help.

As I ventured further and further away from the boat in pure other-worldy heaven – taking in the brain coral, big ass clams, nemo fish in dancing purple and red coral, big ass fish, etc…

I thought LOOK AT ALL THE AMAZING THIS GUY IS MISSING OUT ON!

Just because he’s too scared to venture away from the boat.

So he is an extreme case of fear but then I thought about  what boats I’m still clinging too? (as a metaphor).

What boats are YOU still clinging to?

Do you need to venture out into unknown waters and discover
the amazing?

See most people think that venturing away from the boat will  result in failure and getting eaten by a massive shark.

The media and society would like you to think that. You’re safe if your scared. You can be controlled if you’re scared.

So as I sit here exhausted from my day in the ocean, I’m making  a promise to myself: venture further into the scary unknown waters.

I’d like you to make this promise to me too. If you’re scared on starting  a freedom business, asking out that girl you think is cute, or getting in great physical shape…

Then it’s time to let go of the boat.

EXPERIENCE IS EVERYTHING.
(and I hope I have contributed to you today)

Much love.

  2. I love the amazing adventure’s and life experiences. This is how people were meant to live. Stepping up hard and enjoying a level of existence that is highly rewarding.

  3. my life almost sucks.

  4. Hey Tim, I love your videos, it really inspires me and fuels me to keep going with all of this. Completely agree with the other comments here, life is about stepping up and overcoming adversity.

Love to hear you guy’s feedback for how I’m doing so far http://www.naturephysique.com/Dating

I first heard about you on Flawless Natural and now I’m eager to meet you in real life in Melbourne and go out bungee jumping with you.

    Big love to everyone here,

  5. what’s the song? It sounds adventurous.

  6. That’s great Tim!! I’m really considering follow you in this freedom business journey, so keep the good things coming!

  7. Tim, waching this and knowing that I don’t have the knowledge makes me feel sad.

  8. Hey Tim, tonight an opportunity presented itself to me which I’d have loved to take, but I couldn’t afford it. I’ve been procrastinating on this freedom business thing for a while, but this was the last straw (and a well-needed push).

So tonight I’m seriously starting on the journey towards financial independence, so that next time I don’t miss out on something just cause I don’t have the funds . . .

The boat I’ve been clinging on to here is that I didn’t start on this (a business) because I didn’t have a full idea or had an unsure fearful idea of how it would go down. It kinda reminds me of how in Flawless Natural you talk about the movies we play in our head. Anyway, man, tonight I’ve made my decision. I’ve started on my way to freedom business land. I’m doing this. Cheers. :D

Thanks for the encouragement. Stay awesome. :D

  9. Maxi: and what can you do to start having this knowledge available to you NOW? The answer is to yourself. ;)

Tim, the only thing I still disagree from your post is that it´s not to you or anyone else we must do the promise: it´s to our own selves, and we must keep it. Nice video, nice post.

  10. Yes, we all have this false belief that fear keeps us safe. It’s a bullcrap. The fear becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, and actually creates the negative consequences like failure and screw-ups.
By realizing the fear is just a veil, the tiny little wimp inside you that wants to stay inside your comfort zone, you start to make huge progress. Making huge amounts of money can only happen from breaking through the fear.

After all, the magic only happens outside your comfort zone.

  11. An inspiring post!. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Great blog Tim, but what’s up with your daily e-mail? I subscribed a couple of days ago, but i don’t receive anything…

And let your assistant kick your ass to post more blogs… Just do it!… Best regards… :)

  14. Yo, where’s the daily e-mail at?

  15. Hi, I LOVE your blog. But why are they so few updates if this is what you do all day? =) And what is really your product?

  16. I wouldn’t even say it’s about leaving the world better than you met it. I would more say that life is short so do everything possible to get a kick out of it.
